Run Scenarios - More Options
More Options (dialog title: Other Slide Settings) stores account/product filters and slide calculation options as reusable settings presets. Use them so each Run Slide applies the right book, products, vol/VaR/report choices without reconfiguring every time.
Open from Scenario Risk → Run Scenarios, then use the toolbar Settings control and the ⋯ button (tooltip: More Options).

Settings on the Run Scenarios toolbar
In the Run Scenarios header you will see:
Settings [ dropdown ] ⋯
| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Settings dropdown | Which preset is active for the next Run Slide |
| ⋯ (**More Options**) | Open Other Slide Settings to edit filters and options |
Preset types in the dropdown
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| _Current Session_ | Working copy for this session (not a named saved preset). Edits here are applied for the session without a full named Save. |
| _Default_ | System default starting point. Editing it typically moves you onto _Current Session_ so the default itself is not overwritten casually. |
| Named presets | Saved configurations (your desk names). These can be Saved, Reverted, Renamed, and Deleted. |
Changing the toolbar Settings dropdown loads that preset from the server for the next slide run.

Open Other Slide Settings
1. Confirm the connection status is Connected.
2. Optionally pick a preset in the toolbar Settings list.
3. Click ⋯.
4. The Other Slide Settings dialog opens.
Close with the red X, or click the dimmed area outside the dialog. If you have unsaved changes, Rival Risk asks you to confirm (see [Closing with unsaved changes](#closing-with-unsaved-changes)).

Dialog layout
1. Setting Name — same family of presets as the toolbar (**_Current Session_**, _Default_, named).
2. Action buttons — Apply or Save, plus Revert, Rename, New, Delete (availability depends on the selected preset).
3. Account Filter tree (left).
4. Product/Category Filter tree (right).
5. Calculation / report options (vol, VaR, equity beta, detailed report).
6. Last Edit By / Last Saved Time (for saved presets).
While you have unsaved edits, the Setting Name dropdown is locked (highlighted) so you finish Save, Revert, or Apply before switching presets.
Account and product filters
Account Filter
Expand the account hierarchy and check the offices, masters, trading groups, or portfolios that should be included in the slide.
- Expand nodes to load children (lazy tree).
- Check / uncheck to include or exclude.
- Selection is part of the preset and is sent with the slide when you run.
Product/Category Filter
Same idea for products and categories: include only the underlyings / product groups that belong in this stress run.
> Tip: Keep a named preset per desk (for example Equity Desk / Rates Desk) with both trees already set, then only change the Template on the main page.
Calculation and report options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Use Prev Closing Vol | Use previous closing volatilities in the slide model. |
| Use Vol Skew | Apply volatility skew in the calculation. |
| Run VaR | Include VaR with the slide. When on, set Confidence (percent) and Days. |
| Apply Equity Beta | When on, choose One Month or One Year beta horizon. |
| Include Detailed Report | Generate a detailed report with the run. When on, choose report scope and Position. |
Report scope (when Include Detailed Report is on)
| Report dropdown | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Single Report / All | One combined report |
| 1 Report / Office | Split by office |
| 1 Report / Trd Grp | Split by trading group |
Report Position (when Include Detailed Report is on)
| Position | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ALL | Open + day |
| ALL + 0 Base | Open + day, zero base |
| Open Only | Opening positions only |
| Open + 0 Base | Open + zero base |
| Day Only | Day trades only |
| Day + 0 Base | Day + zero base |
These report Position choices are for the detailed report attached to the settings preset. The main Run Scenarios Position control on the page toolbar still governs which positions feed the slide grid itself—see [Run Scenarios](#).
Preset actions
| Button | When available | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Apply | _Current Session_ with unsaved changes | Accept session edits and close without saving a named preset. |
| Save | Named preset with unsaved changes | Persist filters and options to the server for that name. Shows a confirmation when save succeeds. |
| Revert | Named preset with unsaved changes | Confirm, then reload the last saved version of that preset. |
| Rename | Named preset, no unsaved changes | Prompt for a new unique name. |
| New | Connected | Prompt for a name; creates and saves a new preset from the current dialog state. Also appears in the toolbar Settings list. |
| Delete | Named preset | Confirm, then remove the preset from the server and the lists. |
Save / Revert / Rename / Delete do not apply to _Current Session_ or _Default_.
Suggested workflows
One-off experiment
1. Select _Default_ or _Current Session_.
2. Open ⋯, adjust trees and options.
3. On _Current Session_, click Apply (or close after confirming).
4. Click Run Slide on the main page.
Reusable desk preset
1. Configure trees and options.
2. Click New, enter a clear name (for example US Equity Stress).
3. Later: choose that name in toolbar Settings → Run Slide.
4. To update: open ⋯, edit, Save.
Fix a bad edit
1. On a named preset with unsaved changes, click Revert and confirm.
2. Or Save if the new values are correct.
Closing with unsaved changes
| Selected preset | Close behavior |
|---|---|
| _Current Session_ | Prefer Apply. If you close with the X, you are asked to use Apply or confirm closing anyway. |
| Named preset | Prefer Save or Revert. Closing without that prompts a confirmation. |
How this relates to Run Slide
When you click Run Slide, Rival Risk uses:
- The Template, model time, and page Position filters from the main toolbar
- The Settings preset currently selected in the toolbar (**_Current Session_**, _Default_, or a named preset)—including its account/product trees and More Options flags (VaR, vol, report, equity beta)
Changing More Options without selecting that preset in the toolbar (or Apply/Save as required) may not be what the next run uses. After editing, confirm the toolbar Settings value matches what you intend.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to try |
|---|---|
| Save disabled | Select a named preset; make a change; ensure Connected. |
| Apply missing | Apply only appears for _Current Session_. |
| Cannot change Setting Name | Save, Revert, or Apply first (unsaved changes lock the dropdown). |
| Cannot rename | Save or revert unsaved edits first; pick a unique name. |
| Trees empty / incomplete | Expand nodes while connected; re-open the dialog after the page has fully loaded. |
| Run ignored my filters | Confirm toolbar Settings is the preset you edited; for session work use Apply. |
| Duplicate name error | Choose a different name for New or Rename. |
