Slide Details
Slide Details is the drill-down window for a single row (or hierarchy cell) from a completed risk slide. Use it after Run Scenarios when you need the position-level breakdown behind a scenario result.
It is not listed in the sidebar. Rival Risk opens it as a separate browser window from the Run Scenarios grid.
Browser title: Rival Risk - Slide Details.

When to use Slide Details
Use this window when you want to:
- Inspect the positions that contribute to a slide result row
- Switch the detail Display (product / tab scope provided by the server)
- Narrow the detail grid with the filter checkboxes that appear in the toolbar
- Keep the main Run Scenarios page open while you review detail in a second window
If you need to change shocks or templates, go back to Run Scenarios or Scenario Templates.
How to open Slide Details
1. Open Scenario Risk → Run Scenarios.
2. Select a template, set position/model options as needed, and click Run Slide.
3. Wait until the results grid finishes loading.
4. Double-click a cell in the left hierarchy columns of a data row (not the header / total row).
Rival Risk:
- Asks the server for detail for that row/column
- Opens (or reuses) a popup window named for slide detail height≈500, width≈1200)

What you can double-click
| Works | Does not open detail |
|---|---|
| Data rows below the header/total area | Header row / top aggregate row |
| Left hierarchy columns (identity / tree side of the grid) | Far-right scenario measure columns alone (double-click is limited to the left columns) |
If nothing opens, try a different hierarchy cell on a deeper row, confirm the slide has finished, and allow popups for the Rival Risk site.
> Tip: Many browsers reuse the same detail window. Double-click another row to refresh that window with the new selection instead of stacking many tabs.
Page layout
Slide Details is a focused workspace:
1. Toolbar — Display (when available), Clear, and filter checkboxes
2. Detail grid — Scenario contribution / position breakdown for the selected context
A wait overlay may appear briefly while columns and rows load.

Display
When the server provides display options, the toolbar shows:
Display: [ dropdown ]
- Each option is a product or tab view of the same detail context.
- Changing Display reloads the detail grid for that option and clears the current filter checkboxes so you start from a clean filter set.
If no options are sent, the dropdown is hidden and you work with the single default detail view.
Filter checkboxes
After (or while) detail loads, the server may send one or more filter checkboxes in the toolbar. Labels describe what each filter includes (often multi-line).
- Checkboxes default to on (included).
- Uncheck to exclude that slice from the detail grid; check again to include it.
- Changes apply immediately through the live connection.
Clear
Click Clear to:
- Reset the server-side detail filters for this window
- Remove the filter checkbox controls from the toolbar
Run another double-click from Run Scenarios (or change Display) if you need a fresh detail context after clearing.
Working in the detail grid
The detail grid uses the same look as other Rival Risk grids:
- Frozen columns on the left for identity fields
- Scrollable scenario / risk columns to the right
- Column resize by dragging header edges
This window is intentionally simple: it does not expose the full Run Scenarios toolbar (Run Slide, More Options, heatmap, scenario chart, column chooser, or radial export menu). Use the parent Run Scenarios page for those actions.
Shared skills (sorting patterns, density, themes) are covered in [Working with Grids](#) and [Navigation](#) where they apply to the main app shell.
Typical workflow
1. On Run Scenarios, run the desk template.
2. Spot a row with a large scenario PnL or capital concern.
3. Double-click its hierarchy cell → Slide Details opens.
4. Use Display to focus the product view you care about.
5. Uncheck filter boxes that are noise; leave the contributors you need.
6. Review the grid, then return to Run Scenarios—or double-click another row to refresh the same detail window.
7. When finished, close the Slide Details window.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to try |
|---|---|
| Double-click does nothing | Click a hierarchy cell on a data row after the slide finishes; allow popups. |
| Blank / waiting forever | Confirm the main Run Scenarios session is still connected; close and reopen detail from a new double-click. |
| Wrong book or symbol | Double-click the intended row again (same popup window is reused). |
| Filters missing | They only appear when the server sends them for that detail context; try another row or Display option. |
| Filters stuck / empty grid | Click Clear, then double-click the row again from Run Scenarios. |
| Display dropdown missing | Normal when the server only provides one detail view. |
